Designed for Efficiency
Qubes use a sealed, insulated structure that traps the cold inside. The durable outer shell slows heat from entering, helping the inner core of purified water stay frozen for extended periods.
How long do they stay cold?
In real-world testing, Qubes placed in a quality esky have maintained internal temperatures of 1–2°C for 72 hours and beyond.
Results will always vary depending on a few key factors:
- Your esky quality — A well-insulated esky (think Dometic, Yeti or similar) dramatically extends cold time by minimising heat transfer from outside. The better the esky, the harder your Qubes work
- How often you open the lid — Every time the lid opens, warm air rushes in. Keep it closed as much as possible and only open when you need to
- Ambient conditions — A shaded spot will always outperform an esky sitting in direct Australian summer sun
- How full your esky is — A fuller esky retains cold better. Pack it tight and fill any gaps with extra Qubes
The better your setup, the better your results. Together, a great esky and Qubes are a seriously powerful combination.
Are these safe in drinks and around food?
Absolutely. Every Qube is certified BPA-free and made from food-safe materials, so you can use them directly alongside food and beverages with complete confidence. There are no harmful chemicals, no leaching, and no contamination risk. Just clean, reliable cold. They’re safe for kid’s lunch bags, food platters, and everything in between.
How do I clean my Qubes?
Cleaning is simple. After each use, rinse your Qubes with warm water. For a deeper clean, handwash with warm water and a splash of white vinegar, or use a small amount of mild dish detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbing, which can damage the outer shell over time. Allow them to dry fully before refreezing.

To get the most out of your Qubes we recommend
- Freeze early. Get your Qubes into the freezer at least 48 hours before you need them. Qubes in the centre of a bag can take longer to fully freeze, so if needed sooner, spread them out if you can
- Start cold. Add cold drinks and food to your esky, not warm ones. Warm items draw heat away from your Qubes faster
- Empty them in. Pour your Qubes loosely into the esky rather than leaving them in the carry bag. This fills gaps, maximises surface contact, and keeps everything colder for longer
